Sewage Sludge Pellets
The UKBRC Standard Biochar is a set of twelve biochar produced from six feedstock (rice husk, oilseed rape straw pellets, wheat straw pellets, miscanthus pellets, softwood pellets and sewage sludge) using the Stage III pilot-scale pyrolysis unit at 550°C and 700°C. Due to the high level of control over the production process, and its extensive monitoring, we achieved a high degree of reproducibility of the biochar products used in the Standard Biochar set, and this makes the material ideally suited for research purposes.
To date the standard biochar have been used by more than 200 research groups worldwide.
All the Standard Biochar, together with specification sheets detailing its properties, are freely available to researchers wanting to incorporate this biochar into their research. Where larger quantities of biochar are required, we also offer customised production of biochar.
